Navy Federal Credit Union

 With almost 300 Branches, a good online service and an ATM fee of only $1, this is a good option for not only Active Duty, but also nationwide Veterans.  In addition its free savings account interest rate is 0.25% — nearly double the average and the one-year certificate of deposit pays 1.76% on balances as low as $1,000 — on par with the most competitive online bank offering.   More info

Service Credit Union

The monthly checking account fee is $0. With direct deposit, you can receive fee rebates for ATM charges, as well as rate discounts on auto loans. Savings accounts can earn 5.00% APY on the first $500, and 0.25% on amounts above. One-year CD's earns a competitive 4.65% APY, and has a $500 minimum, which is low compared to some institutions’ requirements. Open to Military, Veterans and Federal employees only. more info

USAA - Banking

  Primarily an online bank with only 4 branches. The monthly service fee is $0

with interest at 0.01% on balances over $1,000 and 10 free per month ATM transactions.

  Active Duty and Veterans can get $0 monthly maintenance fees,  Waive the fee 

$0 overdraft protection transfers, U.S. Bank deposit account $0 overdraft fees when overdrawn $50 or less

Farmers

Known for their Homeowners Coverage which varies state to state, but discounts range from 1-10% ask your agent to review your policy and investigate service related discounts.

Geico

A large Nationwide company, Geico offers up to a 15% auto insurance discount for retired or active duty military, National Guard members, Reserves and members of military professional organizations like the Navy Federal Credit Union. It also offers up to a deployment/storage discounts up to 25%  more info

Liberty Mutual

Offers various types of insurance, home, auto, renters (varies by location) in addition to other good driver/bundle discounts, they have a corporate wide military/veteran discount program.

USAA - Insurance

USAA is the only major insurance company that caters exclusively to former and current service members and their families so if you’re looking for the cheapest car insurance for military and veterans, USAA is a good place to start. It has the cheapest average rates among the military car insurers. Members receive 15% off comprehensive coverage for a vehicle parked in a garage on a military base in most states and while deployed store your car in a secure location, you’ll receive up to a 60% discount on auto insurance.  more info

MFAA is a nonprofit professional association of independent certified Financial Planners with prior service themselves.  Providing no commission financial advice and planning services for military and veteran families.

 A Department of Defense-funded program offers free financial  counseling services to veterans. Connect with  experienced financial advisors who are knowledgeable about military benefits. They offer not only financial services, but also relocation, housing and pay related concerns.

The Veterans Benefits Banking Program, was VA established through a partnership with the Association of Military Banks of America (AMBA).
